`Dover 5th Nov. The JAMES & MARY, Plumtree, from Caen to Newcastle, got on shore this day in the West Bay, Dungeness. Crew saved.

`6th Nov. The JAMES & MARY has washed up on Dungeness Beach and, having strained considerably, and received much damage, it is feared will be a total wreck.' (1)
