Full Description
Tanyard operated by George Startup in the late 17thC. By end of the 18thC the tan yard was long disused and two cottages had been built on the site. These were the original Park Cottages on Tanyard Hill, near Cooks Cross (now Chestnut Corner). The cottages were subsequently demolished and the present park Cottages stand on in front of the site.
