Summary

A disguised World War II Pillbox at the East end of Hoo Marina. Evidence of bricked up loopholes was observed during a 1995 defence survey. The monument was also visited in 2004, but no changes were observed.

Full Description

Disguised pillbox or adapted existing rectangular brick building. Evidence of bricked up embrasures. Garage, with loopholed wall.At E end of Hoo Marina. (1)

The building described in authority 1 falls within the area mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. A structure survives on the site, but evidence for its adaptation as a pillbox could not be discerned from the available aerial photographs. (1-10)
