Summary
Adjacent to the railway line near Barrow Green, this collapsed chalk pit bells out into a chamber. Pick marks have been noted in the walls. It may be connected to a shallow chalk pit ten metres to the north.

Full Description
Collapsed chalk well found adjacent to railway line near Barrow Green, Teynham TQ 953 633. Shaft bells out into a chamber, both being some 7.5m deep. Pickmarks noted in the chalk walls. Shaft not capped and suggested the colapsed hole not the entrance but connected to a chalk pit (a shallow earthwork) some 10m North. The chamber is part filled by collapsed roof material and periodically floods. (1)
