In c.1983 Malcolm Davies carried out a resistivity survey after the farmer reported the presence of a large Roman site. The survey showed a range of square rooms (c.6m x 6m) with a possible corridor running in front of these. There was a large structure at one end of this range. (1)

In 1984 KARU dug a trench across the site. Bath wing with furnace at N end with hot and tepid rooms attached, plunge bath built on apsidal plan and with plain tesselated floor and wall lined with opus signinum, as was the floor in the small cold bath adjacent. Parts of two possible boundary ditches found. Some 50m from the main building bath wing was found evidence of another building of uncertain purpose.
