Monument record TR 36 NW 367 - Bronze Age ring ditch at Hartsdown, near Margate

Summary

A ring ditch, presumably that of a Bronze Age round barrow. Based on its diameter of 10m the barrow is thought to be in the smallest group of Kentish barrows. It is most likely either an early Bronze Age beaker monument or late in a series of late middle Bronze Age. The fill of a surrounding ditch contained sherds of a late middle Bronze Age (Deverel-Rimbury) bucket urn.
