Full Description

In 1995 an excavation was carried out by Wessex Archaeology along a pipeline between Deal and Ramsgate, at Sandwich Bay. A grave cut was found on a north-west south-east alignment. The skeletal remains were in good condition and appeared to be of a mature adult. A iron coffina anil and a sherd of a Beligic/Early Roman vessel were present in the burial. It is thought the cermaics is a possible grave good. It was inferred as a Romano-British inhumation. (1)
