Summary
The first reference to milling on this site is contained in a lease of 1763 of 2 grist mills. The mill is marked on an 1817 estate map however the buildings are no longer visible on an 1899 edition Ordnance Survey map. The pond supplying the mill, called Breeches Pond, (at TQ 8680 3490) has been breached and is now partly overgrown and the site itself is only visible as earthworks.

Full Description
1st reference to milling on this site contained in lease of 1763 of 2 grist mills. 1st marked on a map in 1817 estate map. Buildings no longer shown on OS 1899 edition. Main mill pond supplying the mill, called Breeches Pond, (at TQ 8680 3490) the pond bay has been breached and the pond partly overgrown. The pond drew water from 2 streams giving it a large Y-shaped plan with the dam at the S. end.
