Full Description

TQ 654728. A triple-chambered "Chalkwell" about 35ft. deep was discovered in clearing ground adjacent to Whitehill Road, Gravesend, prior to the erection of a block of garages. The entrance had been sealed by a brick arch in the 17th c. The chalkwell was filled with spoil from the building site [See plan AO/LP/64/37.] (1) The site of this chalkwell is now covered by a small block of garages and concrete forecourt, centred at TQ65427282. (2)
