Monument record TR 02 NE 37 - Medieval Field System St Mary In The Marsh
Summary
A number of earthwork ditches sub-divide the field, some of which have been lost into an irregular grid-like pattern. These connect into the existing boundary ditches and almost certainly originally connected to the pond, which may be an ancient watering hole. The earthwork ditches are remnants of the medieval field system. The mound in the NE corner is the site of a house (TR 02 NE 54) shown on C17 maps and almost certainly dates from the Medieval period.
