Monument record TQ 75 SW 72 - 1 The Green,Charlton Street, West Farleigh
Summary
Excavations at the rear of this 18th century cottage revealed signs of an earlier building.
A finely carved stone door jamb was uncovered and the lower courses of a burnt stone wall. Ragstone footings were also found in situ.
The excavations also uncovered a curved wall and a tiled floor on timber staging. This suggests the possible site of an ice-house.
