Full Description

Mound identified as poss saltmound (1). Wessex Arcaheology desk top survey in 1992 records a group of three salterns, two destroyed. One cut during recent sea defence construction revealed oyster shells, burnt clay and flints, wood and twigs. Probably medieval (2). Rapid field survey confirms that no surface traces of the three salterns survive (3). Site photographs (3-6).
