Full Description
In 1994 an evaluation was undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust at the proposed site of Oasis Holiday Village, West Wood, Lyminge. An early Romano-British site was identified in Trench B. Pottery scattering suggested a date of c. 50-150 AD, Late Iron Age to Early Roman. Some flint was found also, a broken blade amongst them. In one of the tests pits within the trench more pottery was found as well as three fragments of slag. (1)
