Monument record TR 05 SE 121 - Post medieval sheep-fold, site of 18th century farmstead and garden temple, Godmersham
Summary
A sheep fold was located near Wilderness garden at Godmersham house. There are no visible remains of this today but the feature is marked on the Ordnance Survey 3rd edition map of c.1905-1922. This area was also the former site of a small 18th century farmstead and a summer house is also depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map but again neither is visible today. A garden temple was erected at the site in 1935, and this remains in good condition and is a grade II listed building.
