Monument record TR 05 SE 130 - Site of 19th century Pheasantry, Godmersham
Summary
A Pheasantry was previously located at the northern extent of Temple Hill wood to the north of Godmersham. The site is thought to be medieval in origin although there is no clear evidence for this. It is marked on the 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Survey maps of c.1861-1895. The monument is not depicted on the 3rd edition map of c.1905-1922 indicating it had by this time been demolished.
