Full Description

Stream and diverted channel leading to series of feeders seen as earthwork constituting water meadow system S of Hearnden Green. Centred at TQ 8293 4610. Brick and concrete built sluices are at TQ 8283 4603 and TQ 8296 4598. The feeders are crossed by several small footbridges: brick built at TQ 8332 4630, TQ 8318 4628, TQ 8285 4593 (pair) and TQ 8270 4588 (pair). The watermeadow pre dates the main road, built before 1817, which cuts the SW end. There is no mention of artificial control of the meadow's drainage in the 1766 lease. (1)
