Summary

A bridge was constructed in 1963 by Freeman, Fox and Partners to carry the M2 motorway over the river Medway. It is a beam bridge constructed of pre-stressed concrete with a cantilevered central span of 152.4m (500 feet), the longest in the world at the time of construction. The total length of the bridge is 1018m (3340 feet).
