Monument record TQ 67 SE 67 - Rectilinear Feature, Cropmark
Summary
The fragmented cropmark remains of a probable later prehistoric trackway, defined by two parallel ditches flanking an the remains of an insised hollow way. Attached to the trackway ditches are traces of perpendicular attached ditches, possibly associted boundaries or enclosures. The trackway remains can be traced for c.350m, extending south-eastwards before changing direction to the south. This trackway appears to be part of a longer section of curving trackway which can be seen in the adjacent field to the north-west which has been recorded separately as NMR Monument: 765312. All these features have been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
