Full Description
Possibly the site of a lost settlement NE of Frogholt. There are clear indications of ancient cultivation, a number of irregular earthworks may signify house platforms, small cultivation plots and a fish pond. A small, oval enclosure once called "Court Ditch Carvet" may mark the site of the hundred court, a judicial unit for civil cases dating from AS times. Traces of MD fields survived until recently near Newington and Peene. (1)
