Monument record TR 05 SW 18 - Post medieval earthwork, Godmersham
Summary
An earthwork, possibly a line of the park boundary is located in woodland on Godmersham Downs. There is a ditch on one side of this feature, and the earthwork runs in an irregular fashion until it meets with a hollow way from Bilting. It is suspected that rather than a park boundary this represents an old field boundary between Kings Wood and Godmersham Downs. There is no indication of such a boundary on the Ordnance Survey historic maps.
