Trenching in advance of road construction investigated an area of unploughed land reportedly used for rubbish dumping with the placename Cole Cave 70m to the north on maps. A chalk rubble mound was revealled which was removed to a dept of 2m. It was interpreted to be backfill of c3m dia shaft, prob a denehole. (1)
