Monument record TR 05 SW 22 - Chalk mine at Challock crossroads
Summary
The site of a former chalk mine is located at the crossroads in the north east area of Challock. A flint crushing plant also operated at the site until the 1930's, and this was mainly used in road making. The main shaft leading to galleries adjacent to the crossroads is now the site of a garage.
