Full Description
4 emplacements for 3.7 in. AA guns and command post. Car park in front of nursery buildings may cover remains.(1)
Heavy anit-aircraft battery (TS6) which was part of the Thames and Medway GDA (gun defended area) in operation from 1940 and armed with four 4.5" guns and GL Mk II radar. After the war it was held as a Battery Headquarters, guns and operational equipment In place as part of the Nucleus Force and enlarged to accommodate two 5.2" guns. Associated camp buildings were located approximately 100 m west of the gunsite, north of Capstone Road. The date of its abandonment is not known. None of the emplacements or associated operational buildings survive, although many of the adjacent camp builings do. (2)
