Summary

An anti-tank blockhouse with a pedestal gun mount instead of the more usual concrete block and holdfast found in the Medway area. This pedestal was designed to hold a 3 or 6 pounder gun and remains in place today.

Full Description

Type 28. Unusually for Medway area the gun inside was mounted on a pedastal instead of the more usual concrete block and holdfast. Designed to mount a 3-pr. or 6-pr. gun. Bottom of pedestal still in place. On breastwork of Chatham Lines beind NAAFI stores, Sally Port Gard.(1)
