Monument record TQ 76 NE 343 - Railway obstacle blocks, near Chatham Dockyard

Two large concrete cubes either side of the railway line into Chatham Dockyard, recessed to receive a transverse iron girder as an obstacle to enemy trying to use the railway. Unusual feature in an urban environment. 2 anti-vehicle obstacles [UORN 12577] and 1 rail obstacle both WW2. Rail obstacle at entrance to railway at TQ 7757 6937. Road obstacle consists of 4 anti tank blocks on internal rd of the dockyard at TQ 7720 6958.
