A post-medieval chalk pit was formerly located at Sarre Court. The pit is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map of c.1861, however on the 2nd edition map the site is depicted as 'Old Chalk pit'. This appears to indicate that it fell out of use at some point between c.1861 to c.1895 when these maps were released.

'Old Chalk Pit' not present on 1st ed. map, but present on O.S. 6"map 2nd ed and 3rd ed. maps. 1930s map unavailable but not present on up to date revised on O.S. map. (1)

A chalk pit of post-medieval date was visible as an earthwork on RAF/541/484 RP 3027 07-APR-1950. The feature remains visible as an earthwork on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2-3)
