Monument record TR 36 NW 327 - Freehold chalk pit, Minster
Summary
A chalk pit was formerly located to the north of Minster. The feature is depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map of c.1861-72. It is present as 'Old Chalk Pit' on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map of c.1896 - 1898. The boundary is marked on later editions but not thought to be visible today. The chalk pit is visible as an earthwork on RAF/106G/UK/1378 FV 7105 04-APR-1946.
