'Old Chalk Pit' located on 2nd ed 6" 1898 map, sheet 24. It is marked on the c.1861 1st edition Ordnance Survey map as 'Chalk Pit', and again on the c.1896 2nd edition as 'Old Chalk Pit'.Disused pit boundary present on revised ed map. The pit boundary is still visible at the site. (1)

A chalk pit of post-Medieval date was visible as an earthwork in OS/64018 V 33 12-MAY-1964. It was recorded as a levelled earthwork on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2-3)
