Summary

A post-medieval Brickworks was formerly located on the coast near Pegwell. The site is marked on the 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Survey historic maps (c.1858-1898). It is marked on any of the later edition maps.

Full Description

Marked as brickfield on 1st ed 1872 OS 6" map. Also marked on 2nd ed 1899, and marked but not named by 3rd ed 1908. Same for revised ed 1931. (1)

The associated post medieval quarry is visible as an earthwork on RAF/106G/UK/1131 4003 17-JAN-1946. The feature is levelled on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. This feature was mapped as part of the Thane Landscape Mapping Project. (2-3)
