Summary

Second World War reinforced concrete pillbox built into pre-existing building, and later converted into garage. Behind solitary house at Court-at-Street, approximately half a mile West of Port Lympne wildlife park boundary. The pillbox was adapted from a farm building of circa 1895, constructed of red brick with a pitched roof. a rectangular extrusion from the Western side contains two externally stepped loopholes with concrete lintels and there is a further loophole in the southern end of the building, blocked the placement of the later garage

Full Description

A WW2 Pillbox, built c1940, behind a solitary house approx half mile west of Port Lympne wildlife park boundary. The pillbox was apparently built into pre-existing later converted into a garage. Embrasures in end (S) wall, at centres of E and W walls and at SE and SW corners. Built of reinforced concrete with skin and still good condition.(1)

Pillbox partly concealed within garage or small barn.Brick faced concrete pillbox built into pre-existing garage [or, just possibly, pillbox later converted into garage- not inspected]. In good condition.
