Monument record TR 37 SE 268 - Former Reeve's brewery, Hawley Street, Margate
Summary
The remains of 18th and 19th century buildings over shops on Hawley Street have been identified as possible maltings. A two storey brick building was also identified as a possible brew house. A two storey building with a loading door may also have been connected. An office with 'Reeve & Co. Ltd, est. 70 yrs.' is present at the site. As the George Pub is adjoining this may also have some connection.Reeve & Co.(Margate) Ltd, 24 Hawley Street, Margate, Kent.
Registered September 1903. Brewing ceased 1907 but continued in business as ale and porter merchants until 1939.
