Monument record TR 05 SW 23 - Dene hole, Howletts Farm, Shottenden
Summary
A collapsed chamber of an old chalk well was found in an orchard at Howletts farm in December 1993. The chamber was recorded at the time and measured 3.7m in depth and was 4.3m in length. Also reported was a shaft in the eastern end of the Dene hole. The feature was backfilled after it was excavated and as a such is no longer visible.
