Summary

A brickworks was formerly located at the Westwood Road playing field. It is marked on the 2nd 3rd and 4th edition Ordnance Survey maps of c.1891-1940. Some of the features are extant on RAF/541/152 RS 4033 04-SEP-1948 but have since been levelled.

Full Description

Named 'Brickworks' on OS 6" 2nd and 3rd edition maps. (1)

A post medieval brickworks is visible as an earthwork on RAF/541/152 RS 4033 04-SEP-1948. Visible features include a brick kiln and pond. The features have been levelled on the latest Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. The features were mapped as part of the Thanet Landscape Mapping Project. (2-3)
