Findspot record TQ 96 SE 71 - Roman material including pottery,found near Teynham church

Summary

An auger survey was carried out to the north of Teynham church, which discovered evidence of human occupation down at a depth of 1.03m below present ground levels. This consisted of solid brick above flint foundations. Other related finds included small stone tesserae (for mosaic floors), charcoal and sherds of Roman pottery, the last allowing all the finds to be dated to the Roman period.
