Monument record TQ 94 SE 29 - Site of clay pit, Cobbs Wood, Ashford
Summary
The approximate site of a clay pit is known to have been formerly located at the Industrial Estate on Brunswick road. This feature appears on the the Ordnance Survey 2nd and 3rd edition maps of c.1895-1922. Then located in close proximity to Cobbs Wood to the east, this pit was also probably connected with a brick works shown on the opposite side of the wood on the Ordnance Survey 3rd edition map of c.1905-1922.
