Two copper alloy objects, a late Iron Age mirror and a brooch, and a small quantity of sherds from a single cremation vessel were found on land belonging to the Chilham Castle Estate. A small excavation of the find spot was undertaken by Dover Archaeological Group in June 1994 and uncovered a further brooch, fragments of cremated bone and more pottery sherds from the same pot.
