Monument record TR 05 SE 150 - Iron Age burial near Chilham Castle

Summary

An Iron Age burial was excavated near Chilham Castle in 1994. During the work by Canterbury Archaeological Trust a mirror was found within an Iron Age burial with two small copper alloy objects, a late Iron Age mirror and a brooch, and a small quantity of sherds from a single cremation vessel. During subsequent excavations by Dover Archaeological group a further brooch, fragments of cremated bone and more pottery sherds from the same pot were found.
