A linear ditch, with a N-S alignment, was found on a site at Joyce Green Lane, Dartford. The ditch varies between 0.90m to 1.20m in width and 0.25m to 0.32m in depth. In the lower part of the ditch fill small flint pebbles were found and a bit higher poss. waste flakes and a piece of burnt flint. In the ploughsoil of the fill a small sherd of flint - tempered pottery, dated to 1000/900 - 600 B.C., was found.

A linear ditch was found to run almost north-south for a length of over 46 m. The only artefacts located within the fill of the ditch consisted of some flint fragments that show evidence of being possibly waste flakes and one piece of burnt flint. A small sherd of flint-tempered pottery was retrieved from the ploughsoil directly above the ditchfill possibly of late bronze age/early iron age. Although the ditch is of uncertain date it is not believed to be of prehistoric date.(1 & 2)
