Full Description

An area of burnt ground at Shelvingford Farm, nr Hoath, was excavated in 1965. A central area, burnt brick red, was some 30' in diameter and up to 7" thick. The only finds were pieces of brick. Interpreted as remains of a C19 brick Clamp. A brick used in the farm building is dated 1866, though this is likly a coincidence.(1)
