Full Description

AS settlement recorded in mid C9 md manor. Shelford Farm because part of Hales Place. Estate in later C19. In 1839 comprised farmhouse, fodder house/stable om W. side and range of byres on E.Shelford Cottage built before 1839,some 200m to SE of farm. By 1872 farmhouse and stockyard extended, new buiding against NW corner and another new building by farm track. By 1900 some farm buildings demolished but one new one built on N. side of yard. Only 2 C19 buildings survive; fodder house and a small byre.(1)
