Full Description
Samian ware dug up on the Swanscombe Manor estate near Northfleet, Kent "maker's name Marcio" was exhibited at a temporary museum at Hastings in 1862. (1) Swanscombe Manor Farm [centred at TQ 6045 7393] has been much reduced by housing estates and chalk quarries. Mr. W.A. Pallant, who has occupied the farm for the past 20 years, could offer no information (2). Additional reference (3).
