The Brewery had been in existence since before 1845 when it was run by the partnership of Impett & Gardner who soon sold out to H.& W. Gibbs. By 1868 the Brewery was in the possesion of the Lemarque Brothers. White acquired the site in 1875. By 1904 it was put up for sale and it was bought by Flint & Sons of Canterbury. (1) One of the buildings to the south of complex may possibly be the Malt house. Some of the brewery may still remain but most of it was probably demolished by 1938. (2)
