A well located in an orchard was thought to be the possible remains of a chalk well operated by a local individual called James Summers in 1855-65 for his limekiln. Site has now been developed and the condition of the well is unknown.

Full Description

A well situated in an orchard behind Home Street Farm, Wainscott in 1862 may have been the chalk well operated by James Summers in 1855-65 for his limekiln. Location of well and poss site of adjacent kiln is apporx. (1)
