Summary

A diused quarry is located at Soakham Farm in Boughton Aluph. Within the pits are two limekilns that were believed to have been in operation around 1877. These features are marked on the Ordnance Survey historic maps within the chalk pits. The pits remain today and are thought to contain farm buildings.

Full Description

A pair of Kilns ( at Tr 0372 1882 and tr 0373 4878 ) in a large pit adjacent to Soakham Farm on White Hill road were aparently operating in 1877.(1) The pit survives, possibly with modern farm buildings in it.
