Full Description

A WWII Pillbox at Shakespeare Beach, Dover. Built by June 1940 of reinforced concrete. It has subsequently been demolished.(1)

The WWII Pillbox was not observed within any military aerial photography provided for the SE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey dating between February 1941 (3) and July 1983 (4).The record was duplicated in Mke42059. It may also be duplicated in records Mke 16962 and Mke42060. And also duplicated in records Mke16964 and Mke42061.

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
