Summary

A Brewery on High Street, Chatham, first operated by the Best family, from at least 1666. In 1851 it was leased to Edward Winch and was acquired by him in 1894. The brewery was closed as the result of a subsequent merge with Style & Co of Maidstone. It has since been demolished.

Full Description

Chatham brewery was first operated by the Best family, from at least 1666. In 1851 it was leased to Edward Winch and later acquired by him in 1894. The Winch's later merged with Style & Co of Maidstone to form Style & Winch Ltd in 1899. The brewery at Chatham ceased with the merge. The brewery has since been demolished.(1)
