A farm, named Malthouse Farm, suggesting a possible association with maltings is located to the north of Daniels Water. It is unknown if a malthouse exists at the site although one long rectangular building that may possibly have been a maltings was marked on OS maps until 1909, and the site is still known as Malt House Farm on the 4th edition Ordnance Sruvey map of c. 1940
