Full Description
The brewery, which was owned by Leney & Sons, was in use from 1843 to 1981.(1) The buildings have been cleared and the site has been redeveloped for housing . .

Phoenix Brewery, founded by Augustus Leney in 1843. Later traded as Leney & Son, until it was acquired by Whitbread & Co Ltd in 1927. Whitbread later sold it to Fremlins in 1960, who closed it in 1981. The brewery has been demolished and is now a housing estate.(3)
