Summary

Pheonix brewery was in use from 1843 to 1981. It is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st - 3rd edition maps (c.1858-1922). The buildings have now been demolished and the site has been redeveloped. The Phoenix Brewery was founded in Wateringbury in 1843. It later traded as Leney & Son until it was sold to Whitbread & Co Ltd in 1927. Whitbread sold the business to Fremlins in 1960 and it was closed in 1981. The building has now been demolished and is the site of a housing estate.
