Full Description
The brewery was established in the 1830's by Robert Day. By 1862 it was trading as Day, Martin & Co. and later as Martin & Co. In 1880 the brewery was acquired by the partnership of bushell & Wadley, later becoming B.C. Bushell & Co. who merged Watkins, of Swan Brewery, 1i 1897 and Smith of Sevenoaks Brewery in 1899. The site was finally acquired by Taylor, Walker & Co. Ltd in 1948, but kept operating under the name of Bushell, Watkins & Smith Ltd until its closure in 1960.(1) The brewery site was cleared in 1989.
