Summary
A stairway that leads down to the beach from a private estate at North Foreland. There are two shafts and three tunnelled sections totalling 108 concrete steps. There was originally 78 oak steps. These are reportedly the steps that inspired the writer John Buchan who wrote "The Thirty-Nine Steps".
