Summary

A tunnel is located below the floor of the main living room of the Wishing Towers Hotel, Cliftonville. It runs down to the beach where the entrance has been sealed. There are also two rooms cut along its length, a circular and rectangular one. Pick marks on the walls of the tunnel appear to suggest that it was probably hand dug.

Full Description

A tunnel that is situated below the floor of the main living room of the Wishing Towers Hotel, Cliftonville. The tunnel cuts through the chalk and goes down to the beach. The enterance has been sealed at the beach enterance. The tunnel was probably hand dug, as there are pick marks on the walls, and is possible 200 years old. In the tunnel is are two rooms a circular and rectangular one.(1)
